Tampa woman tells deputies her next arrest will be for murder as she's arrested on a domestic violence charge

This is a funny yet ominous story.  A lady is being arrested for whacking her husband.   “It’s okay,” she said, according to an arrest report. “Next time you’re gonna arrest me for murder.”  Maybe she was trying to be lighthearted in a tough situation.  Maybe she was REALLY mad at him for whacking her.  Who knows.

But you cannot say stuff like that in front of a cop – its going to get reported.  And if something happens to her husband, she will be the first suspect.  Take it from an experience criminal attorney, DONT SAY IT.  Whether in jest or if you are deadly serious, DONT SAY IT.  Even with a good defense case, a criminal defense lawyer will have a hard time explaining away such a statement.
